Devices
Device certification examines what the device itself does in each of its settings. We capture the pulse on an oscilloscope and measure its shape, timing, and rise time. A device is usually tested with more than one accessory, since the pairing is what reaches the body.
Accessories
Accessory certification looks at the field the accessory puts out. We scan across its surface and outward from it, so the record shows the peak field, where the field is strongest, and how quickly it fades as you move away. An accessory is usually tested with more than one device, because each device drives it differently.
