Electrode

Engineering
A conductive element that carries electric current into or out of a component. In spark-chamber PEMF machines, electrodes are essential for controlling pulse strength. The gap distance between electrodes determines the voltage needed to trigger a discharge. A wider gap requires more energy and produces a stronger pulse. In a spark chamber, two electrodes face each other. When the capacitor charge exceeds the gap's breakdown voltage, current arcs across and fires the coil.
