Multi-Coil Mat

A flat pad with several coils built into it, spread out so that together their fields cover a large area of the body at once. Where a single coil concentrates its field on one spot, a mat is made for whole-body or large-area sessions: the person lies on the pad, and each coil produces its own field dome directly above it, strongest over the coil centers and softer in the spaces between. How evenly a mat covers the body depends on how many coils it holds and how they are arranged, so a mat's report measures and maps every coil individually rather than measuring the pad as one big coil. A mat spreads many coils across a wide surface, and each coil lays down its own field footprint. How many coils there are is the coil count, how they are arranged is the coil layout, and the surface they cover together is the coverage area. When every coil peaks at about the same strength the coverage is uniform, and the field that spills from one coil into its neighbor is neighbor coupling.
