Parasitic Capacitance

Engineering
Unwanted electrical energy storage that forms between coil windings, between the coil and its housing, or along connecting wires. This causes the magnetic field to ring (oscillate) after fast pulse edges, reducing pulse sharpness. Technically, it creates an unintended LC circuit with the coil's inductance, producing damped oscillations at the resonant frequency.
