Scan Grid

Measurement Geometry
The planned set of measurement positions used to map an accessory's field. The grid is defined before testing begins: which scan lines to sweep, the spacing between points along each line, how far past the accessory edge to keep measuring, and which height planes to repeat at. Every spatial metric in the report derives from it, so the grid's density sets the resolution of everything downstream. Coarse spacing can step over a narrow peak, and a grid that stops at the accessory edge leaves the outer falloff unmeasured. Each point records a position and a field value, which lets one grid describe a disc, a loop, or a multi-coil mat. The field is measured on a grid. Starting at the center, the test engineer steps a probe outward along each axis at a fixed point spacing, taking a reading at every point, and continues a little past the accessory edge to catch the field as it fades. The origin is the center of the accessory surface.
